Something that struck me this year as never before is that the angel choirs singing of peace are the heavenly host--God's army. Unlike the Roman peace, established and enforced at the point of sword and spear, this heavenly peace is won by the birth of a helpless infant lying in a manger....and the death of a helpless man hanging on a cross.
