Prostitutes and the Deputy Secretary of State

Randall Tobias resigns after spending $300 on a "massage."  Josh Marshall here says Tobias is invoking the "Ted Haggard defense," i.e. no sex, just a massage.  Tobias is, so far, the biggest name to emerge in the "DC Madam scandal" surrounding Deborah Jeane Palfrey.  (The Washington Post reported that she has about 10,000 to 15,000 names on her Rolodex.)  Marshall shares this quote first posted on the ABC News "The Blotter":  "I was using one service that sent Thai broads. Now I get 'em to send Central Americans."  This is rich too:  "As the Bush administration's so-called 'AIDS czar,' Tobias was criticized for emphasizing faithfulness and abstinence over condom use to prevent the spread of AIDS."
