otherwise known as Immanuel Lutheran, which sits out on the prairie in rural Trego County Kansas. It was founded in 1900 by Swedish immigrants. I was baptized here on April 19, 1950, which, by the way, was the 5th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
I never knew this building with a steeple. Some time in the 1930's, I think, the steeple burned and was never replaced, which is too bad because, with the steeple, it's a rather exotic-looking structure. It could even be some branch of Orthodox, if you didn't know better. This pic shows Immanuel Lutheran today:
Very cool. Are you a Kansan originally?
Great blog. I added you to my roll.

Hi Dan. Yes, I was born in Kansas City and raised out on the prairie. As a friend of mine says, "Out here, we have clean air and clean thoughts--well, clean air anyway."
