Esther

Hello, just a college student poking around the web for answers about Matthew.

Thank you, Mr Petty, for your eye-opening observations! I was hoping you could tell me more about Jesus' "first utterance" in Luke, though. To me his first recorded words in the third gospel would seem to be in answer to his parents (Lk 2:48) and next in answer to the devil during Jesus' temptation in Ch 4.

Hope to hear back from you, it would help me greatly!

John Petty

Hi Esther,

You are right that Jesus has earlier utterances in Luke's gospel than those in Luke 4. I'm thinking of Jesus' explicitly public ministry which he begins by reading from Isaiah.

Thanks for your visit. Please drop by again.
