Over the period 2001-2007, The Clintons donated roughly 10% of their gross income to charity. On an income of $109 million, they donated $10.25 million.
You have to dig pretty deep into the blogosphere to find that little tidbit, even though it well may be the most significant piece of information to be gleaned from the Clinton tax returns.
The overwhelming majority of that money went to the Clinton Foundation, and the Clinton Foundation hasn't given out much money yet. The money it has spent was spent only after Senator Clinton announced her presidential campaign. Giving to a family foundation is kinda like giving to a self-congratulatory slush fund.
Still, it's a good thing, I guess. But their giving doesn't have the noble ring of "tithing." Most of their tithe is still sitting in banks and Wall Street investments, not being used to feed, cloth, or educate the poor.

Hi Chris,
I haven't done any original research on this, but my sense is that the Clinton Foundations does quite a bit of good work. Even MSNBC gives it high marks.
