202 jobs will be cut, reducing the work-force at Focus on the Family to about 950. At one time, Focus had 1500 employees, but cuts in recent years have reduced that number by a third.
Yet, while obviously in some financial difficulty, Focus managed to find about $600,000 to spend trying to defeat Prop 8 in California. Revenues were down $8 million last year, but are up about $1 million this year. Focus failed to meet, however, its "very aggressive" budget of $150 million.
