He thinks we ought to have a college football playoff system. I don't. Sure, men like to figure out who the "king of the mountain" is because there's testosterone at stake--that, plus money, which is its functional equivalent.
We should learn to get over it. The old college bowl system was just fine--in fact, better. The Orange Bowl was more enjoyable before they scrapped its historic associations and re-named it the danged "FedEx Orange Bowl." When that started, I pledged to avoid FedEx as much as possible--ditto Nokia, Blockbuster, and anybody else whose pursuit of mere profit would sunder the sacred traditions of college football.
