Newt Gingrich on President Obama shaking hands with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez:
""This does look a lot like Jimmy Carter. Carter tried weakness and the world got tougher and tougher because the predators, the aggressors, the anti-Americans, the dictators, when they sense weakness, they all start pushing ahead," Newt Gingrich said.
Lawdy, if this is how stupid Newt is going to be, let's get Sarah Palin back in the news. Does he think that people don't know that GOP presidents have shook hands with a whole slew of strange characters, everybody from Mao to Khrushchev to Ferdinand Marcos.
Ever since Newt said that that woman who killed her children in South Carolina was somehow reflecting "Democratic values," I've loathed the man. How low is that? What kind of person says something like that? Especially when it turned out that the woman's abusing step-father was a big wig Republican.
This is the same guy who shut down the government because President Clinton didn't offer him a front row seat on Air Force One. Why is anyone taking him seriously?
So I've loathed the man for a long time--not that I want anything bad to happen to him, or his family, or anything like that, but on my personal list of loathsome characters in the world, Newt's name is toward the top. Thanks for listening!
I still can't figure out how it's different than this photo. And arguably, that was one of the few foreign policy successes he had as President.

It's not. In fact, Chavez is a piker compared to Mao. Newt doesn't get that we aren't barbarians.
