The site is www.hickenlooperforcolorado.com. Kudos for getting the mountains right. Bob Shaffer got embarrassed a few years ago when it turned out that the mountains pictured on his publicity were not actually Colorado mountains. The mountains on Hickenlooper's site appear to be the Sneffels Range in southwest Colorado. That appears to be White House Mountain just to the left of John's face.
The banner with "Hickenlooper for Governor of Colorado" has a retro touch about it and seems somewhat "hip." That's a nice pic of Hick too--still youthful, but mature and determined. The site gets a plus for positive first impression.
Too bad it doesn't work. When you sign up for email alerts, you get taken to a contribution page. I want to contribute--truly, I do--but this visit was just to check out the website, which doesn't really seem to exist.
There's a bio and some old press releases, but nothing more, and no way to communicate with the campaign through the website. For the intrepid, the phone number is in small print in the lower right corner, alongside with a P.O. Box address.
In short, very little about this website seems to want to engage the voters. Very much about it wants a contribution.
