Rahm Emanuel has received all the press, but there's actually a race to be held for Chicago mayor and some of the other candidates are starting to mix it up.
Yesterday, Cong. Danny Davis warned former President Clinton not to campaign for Emanuel, senior advisor to Clinton during his administration, threatening that doing so would jeopardize Clinton's "long and fruitful" relationship with the African-American community.
Today, former senator, Carol Moseley Braun ripped Emanuel, saying "everybody in this room knows Rahm doesn't live here."
Also today, James Meeks, an Illinois State Senator, withdrew from the race and encouraged African-American voters to rally around one candidate.
Emanuel has the early lead with 32%, though 30% are undecided. Davis and Gary Chico, Chicago public schools chief, came in at 9% each, though Davis led Emanuel 21-19 among African-American voters, who make up about 35% of the Democratic vote.
