The Kansas Jayhawks make it back to the number one position in college basketball for all of half a day before getting soundly thrashed by the K-State Wildcats and Jacob Pullen. I don't know what happened at K-State, but they were picked to win the Big 12 before the season began, and they certainly looked like contenders last night.
Nobody--repeat, nobody--played well for Kansas. A person might have known we were in trouble when Tyrel Reid missed his first shot. Taylor had turnovers. EJ apparently saw someone in the stands he knew and threw the ball to him. Oh yes, and EJ, the trash talk doesn't really fit when you're getting beat by twenty. The Morris twins were barely there, and seem to be having a late season lapse. Someone tell me why Marcus is shooting threes.
The Hawks field-goal percentage wasn't too bad from 2-range, 54%, which is surprising since it seemed they threw up a lot of bricks. Three-point shooting was poor, only 20%. Of course, K-State shot very well--58% from 2, and 50% from 3. This reflects defensive weakness on the part of KU, and not for the first time this year either.
