The Pope and Gov Walker are on the same stage in Brewer Stadium in front of a huge crowd.
The Pope leans towards Mr. Walker and said, "Do you know that with one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display, but will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!"
Walker replied, "I seriously doubt that - with one little wave of your hand? Show me!"
So the Pope backhanded him and knocked him off the stage.
Yes, it's the latest incarnation of an old joke where the world rejoices at the ignominious downfall of a public figure--usually the president, but in this case, a state governor, which is unusual. Even more, the one whacking Walker is the Pope, which reminds people of the Milwaukee Archbishop's support of the unions.
Word is that the recall effort has enough signatures in two of the eight state senate districts--two where the incumbent is especially vulnerable. The time frame for getting signatures--60 days--is about half completed, which means there's a very good chance that three or four more state senators could be up for recall. With three defeats, the state senate changes hands. This thing is so not over.
