At one time--the mid-60's, say--one could argue that the media were somewhat liberal. This was not a nefarious plot of some kind, merely part of the liberal consensus that held through the late 50's to mid-60's.
Nowadays, things are different. This chart, showing media coverage of the various candidates for president, shows, basically, that the more conservative you are, the better press you get.
President Obama gets the most negative coverage of all. He's not much of a liberal, but he's more liberal than everybody whose name appears above his.
Well, Obama is president and the economy's in the tank. He also recently emerged from a fight with Congress looking weak and having accomplished little. Apart from a few good things happening on the foreign policy front, it's understandable that his coverage has been bad. Perry until recently was the GOP's fair haired boy and no one knew much about him. I'm not saying that you're wrong, exactly, only that there are many reasons for Obama to be receiving less than glowing notices right now.

All true, except that the single most glaring reason we're in the tank is because of the policies of the Bush administration and the current GOP representation in Congress. Lest we forget.
