Is the church a person? Corporations may be persons, and money may be speech--contrary to all reason and common sense--but the Supreme Court has not yet ruled that the church is a person.

And what an ecclesiological nightmare that would be!

Obama is often compared to JFK, but I can't imagine the latter accusing his opponent of shoveling "you-know-what," at least not in those words. The level of our political discourse is depressing.

Isn't it? Ten years ago or so, I caught the full Kennedy-Nixon debates of 1960. They were both great. I don't care much for Nixon, but, compared to today's crop, even Nixon is head and shoulders above them.

@LJ: I noticed today that Santorum lost the Catholic vote in both Michigan and Arizona. What he doesn't realize: Most American Catholics are "Vatican II Catholics."
