Thanks for the analysis, John. I don't get why it is a scandal for the IRS to scrutinize anti-tax groups. Mightn't they be more likely than others to defraud the IRS?

It is a nice irony that these overburned IRS auditors seem to have been guilty of little worse than a political variety of profiling (and perhaps not even that, since liberal organizations were apparently examined proportionately). Conservatives love profiling - except, of course, when they don't.

At least they're civil service and can't be tossed out at the pleasure of the Big O.
