The weird thing is that some of those who were disillusioned by Obama are now saying, "we have to find a real progressive alternative this time," apparently forgetting that Obama's primary victory was the biggest win the left wing of the party had had in ages. The messiah turned out to be Bill Bradley with charisma and a suntan. Some of us tried to tell them.

That said, John Edwards was distinctly to the left of both HRC and Obama when speaking about the poor and he performed the party a service by pressuring both of them on that flank. No bad thing.
